Abacus Nursery children are grouped according to age and are based in 4 rooms as follows.

• Peter Rabbit (6 weeks - independently mobile)
• Jemima Puddle Ducks (Mobile - 2 years)
• Mrs. Tiggy Winkles (2 years - 3 years)
• Squirrel Nutkins (3 years - to school)

We operate a key worker system, this links individual practitioners to individual children. This benefits both child and parent, as there is a main point of liaison ensuring continuity of standards of care and well being.

- Settling in

We realize that this is a difficult process and feel it is beneficial for both parent and child to visit the Nursery before starting. This offers an opportunity for parent, child and key worker to get to know each other and talk through any questions or apprehensions you may have. This process is very flexible and guided by you, the parent.

- Partnership with parents

At Abacus we feel that partnership with parent's is very important. We keep parents up to date with their child's development through daily records, news letters, and the sharing of developmental progress at parents evenings.

Children learn best at their own rate. At Abacus we give children time to explore, practice and acquire new skills and support them throughout their development.
